Meet the Merino Family

Marissa and Miguel Merino are the proud owners of Painter Bros of Albuquerque. Miguel attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and he and Marissa later met while living in Oklahoma. In 2014, they moved to New Mexico and quickly knew they had found a place to call home. Today, they are proud parents of five children and devoted owners of their beloved Bernedoodle, Moppy. In their free time, the Merino family enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and making the most of New Mexico’s beautiful weather.

What We Love About New Mexico

We have proudly called New Mexico home for the past 12 years. One of our favorite things about the area is its beautiful weather. It’s not as hot as Las Vegas, Nevada, where Miguel attended college, and not as cold as Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was born. New Mexico offers the perfect balance, allowing our family to enjoy the outdoors and everything the community has to offer throughout much of the year.

Why We Chose Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship has always been a natural fit for Miguel. From his experience as a personal trainer to his career in sales, he has always enjoyed building relationships, creating opportunities, and working toward meaningful results. Business ownership felt like the natural next step and gave Miguel and Marissa the opportunity to build something meaningful together.

What they enjoy most is meeting people, learning about their vision for their homes or businesses, and helping bring those ideas to life. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing the transformation at the end of a painting project—especially when a bold color change gives a space an entirely new look and feel.

Painting in New Mexico’s Climate

Albuquerque’s high-desert climate presents unique challenges for exterior paint. Intense sunlight, dry air, wind, dust, and significant temperature fluctuations can cause colors to fade and exterior coatings to deteriorate over time, particularly on stucco, wood, and metal surfaces.

Painter Bros of Albuquerque takes these conditions into account by prioritizing thorough surface preparation and selecting durable products designed to perform in New Mexico’s climate. Our goal is to help every project look beautiful while providing a finish that stands up to the elements and lasts for years to come.

Giving Back to Our Community

Our family has proudly supported St. Felix Pantry through food donations, and it is an organization we hope to become even more involved with in the future.
