Dawn Swope, Owner – Painter Bros of Akron

My goal is simple: raise the standard for painting in Akron and surrounding areas by combining expert prep, premium products, and a customer experience built on trust, transparency, and results that hold up year after year.

I’ve been married to my husband Brad for 19 years, and we have two wonderful kids, Nick and Natalie. Our family also includes our dog Carly, our cat Tiger (we call him Merv), and our horse Ellie. We love being outdoors whenever we can, especially camping and kayaking together. It’s where we recharge and make some of our best memories. That strong focus on family and enjoying life carries over into everything I do. Giving back is also important to me. I proudly support organizations like Friends in Tents (FIT), which serve our local homeless community.

I've lived in the Portage Lakes all of my life. My favorite thing is the lakes - I grew up boating, skiing, and swimming and love nothing more than to watch the sun reflect off of the water.

After many years in the insurance industry, a layoff became a pivotal moment in my life. It gave me the chance to pursue what I’m truly passionate about—beautifying spaces, inside and out.

With a love for design and a knack for transforming environments, I’ve found so much fulfillment in creating spaces that bring joy and enhance lives. This journey has taught me resilience and adaptability, and I’m excited to continue growing both personally and professionally.
